NEW YORK, NEW YORK - A man who claims to be a Christian, did not like the exclusivity of some of the things Jesus said in scripture, so he decided to change what Jesus said himself, since no one else was.
"Someone had to do it", John said. "The god I know would not exclude others. And since the gospel bears my name, I felt like I was being lead to make the necessary edit."
John was reading through the Gospel of John and saw Jesus say that he was the way, the truth, and the life, as if he meant to say he was the only way to God. "I decided to correct the mistake that was there. We all know Jesus would have never made an exclusivist claim like that."
He changed it to read, "I am a way, a truth, and a life."
John did not feel guilty at all for changing what Jesus taught 2,000 years ago. He said, "I am just updating it to keep with the times."
Many Christians rebuked John for doing what he did, and twisting what Jesus said. To which John replied, "I am doing Jesus a favor. Most people I know don't like Jesus as he is presented in the Bible. By doing this, people will find Jesus more appealing. Don't we all want that?"
John plans on going through the rest of the Bible and changing what he doesn't like to make Jesus more appealing to sinful man.
