ROME, ITALY - Pope Francis declares Mary's Mom, the Grandmother of God, asks her to pray for us sinners.

The church that has always taught the same thing since the first century has introduced a new teaching that we can now call Mary's Mom, the "Grandmother of God."

The pope has introduced a new prayer for the faithful to pray, a prayer to Saint Anne, who traditionally is called Mary's mother.

Hail Anne, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb's womb,

Holy Anne, Grandmother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

The Roman Catholic Church has declared this dogma, and expects all Roman Catholics around the world to accept this new teaching that cannot be found in history.

We spoke to a priest and he said, "As a Roman Catholic, I accept the teaching of my church as I am commanded to. But I have a feeling they are going to have a hard time justifying this doctrine from the New Testament and the church fathers - but try they will."
